Three Negro Spirituals

InstrumentationFl.1/2 + picc, Ob.1/2, Cl.1/2, Bs.Cl., Bsn.1/2 4 Hn., 4 Tpt, 2 Tbn, Bs.Tbn, Tuba Timp. Perc 1/2 Strings Amplified female soloist (range - F below the stave to Bb above)
Length20 minutes
DifficultyEasy-Moderate (inc. some exposed work).
CommentsThese arrangements were written for the orchestra of which I was formerly conductor & an expat. African/American singer of prodigious range emotionally and vocally who lives locally (Newcastle, Australia). Although the spiritual has been considerably worked over, orchestras may be interested in a different & antipodean perspective in these arrangements.

The three spirituals are: Ride on King Jesus, The Crucifixion (And He Never Said a Mumblin' Word), Sin (Sinner, Please Don't Let This Harvest Pass)
