CommentsMagic City is an orchestral overture in a post-modern, post-minimal style and has been compared to Adams and Copland. It is tightly structured on four basic chords which "speed up" over the course of the work creating great excitement and maintaining interest. One extended mixed meter section.

HistoryThis work has been performed by the Alabama Symphony, the Brevard Symphony and read by the Women's Philharmonic and has received excellent reviews and enthusiastic praise from each of these audiences. Conductors include Grant Llewelyn, Christopher Confessore and Karen Nixon Lane.
