All contributions to the Orchestralist web site represent a gift, a
contribution to the web site owner to reimburse that individual for
the expense of running a site from which the Orchestralist community
derives a generally acknowledged benefit.
Understandings
The Web Site Owner:
- will use funds to meet the expenses of running the site,
including, but not limited to, the registration of domain names,
reservation of server space, and addition of website features;
- will put extra monies, if any, into savings to meet future expenses;
- will contribute funds to a worthy nonprofit orchestra-related cause
chosen and clearly stated in advance by the web site owner in the
event the web site goes down or can no longer be maintained;
Suggestions have included the League of American Orchestras,
and the Conductor's Guild. This is still under consideration.
- will make a good faith effort to keep the site functional;
- will derive no personal material gain from contributions;
- retains full and final responsibility for the web site, its
content, and its maintenance.
The Contributor:
- understands that his or her contribution represents a nonrefundable
gift to the web site owner as qualified by the expectations listed above.
- understands that his or her contribution does not purchase
ownership, in whole or in part,
either of the web site or the mailing list.
- understands that his or her contribution does not purchase any
special treatment either officially or via quid pro quo.
